Sweden native Andreas Lindberg is the Director of Coaching for the Southampton Soccer Club and the current Head Coach for men’s soccer at national power house LIU Post.
In 2011 and 2012 Lindberg guided the Pioneers to an overall 35-5-1 record, winning the most games in back to back years in program history and also qualified to back to back NCAA tournaments. In 2012 he led the Pioneers to a number 1 national ranking for the first time in program history and also won the East Coast Conference Regular season championship and the ECC Championship as well as his team clinched the number 1 seed going into the National Tournament. Lindberg’s team averaged 3.47 goals per game which ranked his team as the number 1 team in goals scored per game.
In his four years at LIU Post he has managed to turn the program around from a losing program to one of the top programs in the country and he has been awarded with East Coast Conference coach of the year in 2009, 2011 and 2012.
In 2012 Lindberg accepted the Head Coaching position at the Brooklyn Knights in the Premier Development League after spending 4 years the the clubs Academy program coaching the U16 and the U18 Met Oval Academy teams in the USSF Development Academy Programs.
Lindberg started his coaching career at Southampton College were he made a name for himself as a master motivator and top recruiter for the Colonials and in his three year stint (2002-2005) as Head Coach.
Lindberg earned an impressive 31-14-6 record, winning the NYCAC conference title and a 12th national ranking as the highlights.
As a player Lindberg has represented clubs in three different continents and played for prestigious club Malmo FF in Sweden.
He ended his career at Southampton College as the schools 4th all time leading goal scorer netting 45 goals in 63 games before taking over his alma mater as Head Coach.
Lindberg earned his Bachelors of Business Administration, with a concentration in Sports Marketing and Sports Management from Southampton College in 2002.
Lindberg also received a MBA in Executive Management from Long Island University in 2004.
Lindberg holds a USSF Soccer B license, the Advanced National Diploma from NSCAA and the Level 3 National Coaching Certificate from the Swedish Football Association.
